Geolomama | a beautiful LIFE
https://365daysinthisbeautifullife.wordpress.com/geolomama
Once upon a time, I thought the inside of the earth looked like this:. According to what I had been taught. People were running around screaming and pleading for mercy. No matter how hard they scream, how fast they run, there is no escaping the fire. There I sat in my first geology class at Del Mar College. And then he showed us a picture of this:. 8220;Can you please go back to that slide? I just started checking out during science class whenever anything even remotely challenging to my faith would come...
After You Die | a beautiful LIFE
https://365daysinthisbeautifullife.wordpress.com/2014/03/18/after-you-die
March 18, 2014. I keep telling myself that since I’m still jobless, there is no excuse for not writing. Was dying and writing about what happens after that seemed sort of moot. 8220;Death by hanging.”. It might sound funny to a stranger who has watched ridiculously dramatic films after the fashion of Poe, but it’s actually embarrassing, according to my mother. Who wants to shuffle that kind of sentence across the counter to some poor unsuspecting twenty-year old bank teller? In the end, I kept one of his...

Poem 3: Married to Words | a beautiful LIFE

Poem 3: Married to Words. May 23, 2013. 8220;No really you are fine, it was taken from a book and edited to rhyme.”. How I loved you! Without breath or reason. After much quoted works. I missed you yesterday. When I cut a nail too short. It had snagged on my panties. I could hear you laughing. Pulling me to your neck where it smells. And “the flower tips, unopened lips”. Right after they were opened by you. As you made love to my mind. With things I never thought I’d know to be. You when I was so nothing.

The beauty of our city | Before we could talk

Before we could talk. I’m me. I’m not alone. Holding my own hand. The beauty of our city. June 6, 2013. Sometimes this works. Sometimes relaxation is enough to help me calm down and maybe go outside or even just resists the urge to harm myself. Poem with Milankovitch cycles | written in the rocks

Written in the rocks. POETRY. GEOLOGY. CLIMATE CHANGE. By written in the rocks. Poem with Milankovitch cycles. Like veins of fat in a hock of ham. Fault lines score down heaved chalk cliffs. And across the thick shore platform. The flints are uniform, and calcite clefts. Indicate the brecciated crush zone. Occurring to the south of the west-east. Latitude of tectonic disturbance. It’s highly complex, to say the least. But there’s a rhythm in the chalk. Soft and harder beds, nodules, wispy marls,.

A Return to Words. Stress Positions are Torture. Posted by Ashana M. Asymp; 15 Comments. Some days, my whole body hurts. Sometimes it’s just my legs that hurt. They hurt at the thighs most intensely, but also along the arches of my feet. I’ve described the sensation to my doctors as a burning sensation, the kind of pain you feel from muscular exhaustion. There is no medical explanation for my pain. And yet there is. It is referred to as an “enhanced interrogation technique,” and justified as ...The most ...

365 Days in Utah
365 Days in Utah. Our Humble Abode in SLC. View my complete profile. Sunday, June 3, 2012. Four recent things I've noticed that will always remind me of Utah:. Every patriotic holiday in our neighborhood, American flags line the streets in front of nearly every house. I think this is a project done by the local Boy Scouts. Ahh, the Utah Jumping Spider. Something I had never heard of before moving here. No Heinz ketchup in burger joints here, it's all about the fry sauce. It is basically mayo and ...The b...
365 Days in Zion
Show All 365 Days. Day 365 1: September 26, 2005 - End of the Road. Just to be on the safe side, we spent an extra day in Zion. The views from the Kolob Reservoir Road are fantastic, and not often travelled on. It's also a great jumping off point for day hikes, overnights, or access to the Subway. Sorting through all of our thousands of photos to find some to put up on this blog was the first round to identifying photos for a book project. Hopefully it won't take as long for stage 2!
