Sweeney's Mama: October 2011
http://angelarothwell.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, 29 October 2011. I wanted to make morning tea for the team I'm leaving behind at work. I made them orange and sultana scones. If you read the KitchenMaid blog, you'll see that her recipe is based on some legendary scones around town. I'd not heard of them until I read her post. Then I had dinner with a bunch of gals, most of whom were locals to the cafes. Where these scones come from. Reader, I married that scone. In other news, it's Hallowe'en party time. I went to a little shindig after w...

Hidden Kent: June 2012
http://www.hiddenkent.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Friday, 15 June 2012. Theatre on various lawns. I always love an English summer don't you? Last year the rain at the Isle of Wight Festival was so horrendous that this year we vowed to take waterproof macs instead of relying on those godawful cheap ponchos we thought were meant to be waterproof. I try and remain optimistic - I have several BBQs planned and am hoping to take an English holiday in a campervan later in the year, so you can't say I don't have faith (or my fingers crossed). Further into Kent ...

Hidden Kent: HK Review: Brunch, The Swan, West Malling
http://www.hiddenkent.com/2012/06/hk-review-brunch-swan-west-malling.html
Tuesday, 12 June 2012. HK Review: Brunch, The Swan, West Malling. In search of Eggs Benedict. According to Wikipedia there are several accounts attempting to verify the origins of the humble Eggs Benedict and I for one, prefer the hangover cure tale, spun by Lemuel Benedict at the Waldorf Hotel, New York in the 20's. It is so much more fun than 'my mum made it in her kitchen when she was bored.'. The usual ingredients are:. A toasted English Muffin. Carved ham or grilled bacon (or pig of any description).

From the Midnight Sun to the Long White Cloud: syyskuuta 2011
http://fromthemidnightsuntothelongwhitecloud.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
From the Midnight Sun to the Long White Cloud. Ulkosuomalaisen ajatuksia ja kokemuksia asumisesta Keski-Maassa. Sunnuntai 11. syyskuuta 2011.

Oui Cherry: November 2011
http://ouicherry.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Sunday was my littlest cousin Isla's naming ceremony (I keep describing it as a 'pagan christening', but that probably sounds like we dance around with sticks or something). I also love her photo wall. My sister and I were 'guardians' so we each did a reading, I wasn't a fan of the reading the celebrant suggested so I wrote my own poem for Isla. It wouldn't win any prizes and I woke up on the day thinking, '. Have I done this? But in the end I was glad I did. His father was ki...
